The Oldest Name In Motorcycling In the Valley has Returned

The Wilson name has been synonymous with motorcycling since 1913. Harry "Ott" Wilson started working at the local motorcycle shop after purchasing his new single cylinder Harley Davidson. In 1917 World War called and Harry was assigned to France. Road conditions were so bad that motorcycles were the preferred mode of transportation. Because of Harry's extensive Harley Davidson experience, he was assigned to work in the repair facility keeping the hundreds of motorcycles running. After his discharge in 1919 Harry returned to Fresno where he opened Wilson's Motorcycles. Doug Wilson started working at the shop in 1942 at the age of 12 when all able bodied men were called to duty for World War 2. A successful rider himself, Doug was well known amongst the local racers for his competitive spirit and ability to win races and hill climbs. Throughout the years the Wilson family has sold to Fresno Police, Clovis Police, Sun-Maid Raisins, Pharmacies and thousands of happy motorcyclist enthusiasts all for the transportation on two wheels. In 1989 the original Wilson's motorcycles was purchased by Pat Cody, who still runs the store from the same location.

In 2006 the third generation of Wilson, Bob and his wife Lisa, along with their partners, Terry and Edna Hess purchased Madera Honda Suzuki and brought the well known Wilson name and family quality relationships to the selling of motorcycles and motorcycle related products again. Along with the Wilson name, the purchase of Madera Honda Suzuki has brought the 2nd generation Doug Wilson back into the business, and he could never be happier.
